This Privacy Policy explains what information Simmer ("the App") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Simmer is designed to work with as little personal data as possible.

No Account Required

Simmer does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the App. When you first open Simmer, the App generates a random, anonymous identifier that stays on your device. This identifier is used only to keep your meal plans, shopping lists, pantry data, and preferences associated with your device — it is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal identity.

Information You Provide

Within the App's Profile page, you may choose to enter:

• Household size
• Dietary preferences or restrictions
• Your state or region (automatically detected using your device's IP address, used to estimate regional grocery pricing, currency, and tax; you can confirm or change this manually at any time)

This information is stored locally and associated with your anonymous device identifier. It is used solely to personalize meal suggestions, budgeting, and shopping lists within the App, and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.

For users outside the United States, prices are displayed in your local currency using a live exchange rate for convenience; all underlying budgeting and cart calculations are performed in US dollars.

Automatically Collected Information

Simmer is delivered through a native app wrapper. That wrapper may include standard technical functionality such as crash reporting to help maintain app stability. Simmer's own code does not use this data for tracking or advertising, and this data is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your precise (GPS-based) location. Simmer uses your device's IP address only to estimate your general region (such as your country or state) for pricing, currency display, and tax purposes. This is approximate location data only, is not linked to your identity, and is never used for tracking or advertising.
• We do not collect health, medical, or fitness data. Dietary preferences are food-related preferences only.
• We do not collect financial or payment information. Simmer does not currently process payments.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or browsing history.
• We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on your device and associated with your anonymous device identifier for as long as you use the App. If you delete the App, your locally stored data is removed. You can also reset your data at any time using the reset options available within the App.

International Use

Simmer is available to users outside the United States. Regardless of where you access the App from, the same protections described in this Policy apply. Approximate location data (see above) is used only to tailor pricing, currency display, and tax handling for your region.

Children's Privacy

Simmer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
